Key properties when creating / having an
online shop
I've decided to put it in a shortcut checklist. I've created this list for my purpose (like the all site), I've done little explanation under each paragraph. I would update this list periodically. List isn't in order.
What matters is your reputation over the internet
Did you've ensured your shop is referred on other websites as reliable? Did you've posted already those references by yourself (when shop is good you don't need to, it would be referred by some people, either)? Did you've ensured you've asked clients to put recommendations of your shop in web services like SHOPreview.com (as sample)? Do you promote those
"independent" opinions on your website?
RANK #1 as the biggest & best, huge shop – leader in the field | promotion in the web search Engine (top#1-3 MAX)
If you're not present in the search engines, as top #1-3 nobody / far much less people would ever buy from you if they would ever find you. Understand that. The same if you're not dealing with yourself to become the LARGEST, THE BEST your business would perish, soon or faster – you would start to get less and less clients, in time. If you don't develop
your business and don't have ambitious, huge goals on it's expansion (and don't do action to put them into reality) – you perish. Please ensure also that you've got the right people, on the right places. Are they smarter than you? If no, find yourself and make an environment of yours – of very smart people.
Do your site looks reliable (fully professional)?
Your site must be professional, very good looking and simple – working on every browser (without turned off javascript). Did you've supplied contact details and all possible articles / guides, described every product in it's detail, put HIGH-QUALITY PHOTOS of your products. Done presentations? Allowed to clients rate and review your products (if necessary). Have
all the sizes. Anyone can handle with your page (not only you). Is the order checkout process as simple as possible? Could it be simplest, improved? Can anyone could order and pay for the product? Did you verified it on 10 people? Are you sure they don't need a presentation on how to order? Do you need registration to buy a product (mistake). Do it at least in hidden
way (just put under the X: mail, password, repeat password, fields -- all). Do the colors are good? Does it looks good for eye and the font is large enough? What's your receiver group? In what age they are?
CONTACT WITH CUSTOMERS
The most important. You can have an enormous advantage over competitors by simply following this guideline: you have an excellent contact with every client – respond on every mail, telephone, problem within seconds – if you don't know an answer you tell (or rather say: that "I don't know yet, but I would find an answer for you [meaning: this question] in
next 12 hours", but REPLY and tell him this; also say: "sorry" [I apologize for this situation]; I would contact you soon] and inform the client about everything. The client is your baby which you need to teach and instruct (and tell) about everything. BUT beware: always focus on solutions, if you won't be able to find a / have inventory item that would fulfill his
needs – refer him to the competition. You must always at all cost keep the confidence in yourself & your shop – client must trust you in 100% because he's giving you money. You should also (program a website) to send e-mail confirmation when the package was shipped with the tracking #number. It's also advised to – keep contact with the
client afterwards (but in some sense of automated way). To get him refer 20 people more, sign on newsletter – whatever. Also option to refer (send e-mails) from his e-mail account to his friends is required.

I must point also that leaving "secretary" or not replying on a mail in 12h == loss of client! You can't allow on this (I've personally experienced this yesterday). If there is only competition in the market (and there for sure is) you go the competitors, without any hesitation. Even when the price would be maybe not slightly, but a bit much lower and the "quality
requirements" (like contact) would be met: everyone would choose your competitor.
You must also understand that even if you would put 10 000 FAQ (answers on customers questions) and even programmed contact form to don't allow any duplicate questions: the client would write / call you, but not to get the answer really, but the good some sort of proof that he would receive the product he ordered – TO CHECK YOU. Off course, you must
reply. Remember that you're dealing with money.
Do you accept credit cards (all credit cards) & CONFIDENCE BOOST
PayPal, Amazon Phrases. Remember that some clients have lack of confidence to give on your site credit card numbers and you're doomed on sales plum. You should ACCEPT __ ALL __ CREDIT CARDS. It simply means that everything needs to be accepted. Think also about option: pay on delivery and other like: Western Union. Give also BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER and SWIFT ACCOUNT. It
would give some confidence. Important is also the page "ABOUT" (where you put all the documents) which could be easily verified, it's important. Photos of people also give confidence, with their signatures and few words. Make it the most reliable shop and keep that opinion.
Did you've done Affiliate Program and it's huge enough for the other people to take part in it(like: 50/50 profit split or even more)
This is very important clue. Remember one thing: people would always pay for products / services which would make them richer (my quote on success in the business, more: Andrzej Jeziorski ('AndyPSV') quotes (regularly updated), so please make sure your
"promotion" (or rather: "best available offer" beats the competition). Why anybody would like to put ad for your shop, rather than competition? It's very best answer to ask, for yourself. Why?
PROMOTION, MARKETING EFFORTS?
Did you've considered sending letters to all your possible customers or advertised in places where they are? What about mouth-to-mouth marketing? Why somebody would like to tell anyone about your site? [I'm currently in the process of learning, reading knowledge about this subject]
What are the products of tomorrow / paths of development of future in this branch? On what products / services I could expand or make a part of my offer to the customer? WHAT CAN I DO TO BE UNRIVALED (UNDISPUTED LEADER NUMBER #1)?
