I've once worked for 1 month on a website. Then my disc crashed (just broken – stopped to work). I've lost the whole effort and work (effort is never lost, but the website has gone).
From this time I always save and send on outbound servers (4) all my work (e-mails), cyclically every month I burn everything on CD/DVD which I store in safe place. For this purpose I've created 4 different mail account on which I send all my work compressed into a single file (you can create 4 separate account or optionally: create one account which would resend to
rest 3 the data).
Remember that this rule applies to any of your work. Save it, write it, store it, just in case. You must have it stored at least in 2 different separate places.
Can you handle 1 month time loss?
CONCLUSION. The same applies to all your work (especially on PC) when you can do BACKUP of your work. Do everyday at least once a backup of your work, so in any case you can go back and you would be max. 1 day "back" if something happens. Edit
